Ned was born in Shaler and moved to Franklin Park at an early age. He graduated from North Allegheny High School and went to Boston University on a football athletic scholarship in the 1AA Yankee Conference Athletic Association studying physical therapy. He graduated with a Masters in Physical Therapy from Boston University and was named Yankee Conference Academic All-Conference. Ned worked for several physical therapy private practice groups before starting his own Orthopedic PT private practice in both Pittsburgh and in Raleigh, NC.

Ned began his real estate career at Prudential Preferred Realty in which he was named the Rookie-of-the-Year in 2000 and then continued with this firm as they became known as Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. Ned and Lesley joined REMAX Select Realty in 2016 and has since ranked in the top 10 out of over 400 agents within this prestigious firm that tends to have the most experienced agents in the industry. The Ned and Lesley Bruns Team entered into the REMAX Hall of Fame in 2022 due to their consistent and successful sales history. After many years in the Platinum Club team awards from 2016-2021, they were awarded the exclusive Chairman's Club Team award for over 22 million in annual sales in 2022 and 2024.

When they are not meeting with clients or showing homes, they enjoy time with their family, spending time outdoors, or enjoying one of the many Pittsburgh sporting events throughout the year!
